MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Hear Claudia Thornton present “Made in the Shade” at the Maplewood Garden Club’s meeting on Monday, Sept. 12, at 7:30 p.m. at the Maplewood Memorial Library, 51 Baker St. in Maplewood.
How do we evaluate shade conditions and determine what actions are needed to grow a successful shade garden? Thornton, landscape architect, will enlighten attendees with specific suggestions and approaches to the challenges of shade gardening, emphasizing natural ways to improve soil health and moisture preservation. By using the materials that gardens produce naturally, gardeners can improve the vigor of their gardens and enjoy success in their gardening efforts. Thornton will also offer expert advice on what plants to select for different types of shade.
