MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Maplewood is holding its annual Rahway River Cleanup on Earth Day weekend. The cleanup will be Saturday, April 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Maplewood Memorial Park; the rain date is Sunday, April 22. This year, there will be a community picnic, so stop by for some nourishment and to meet your neighbors.
Check-in tables will be at the bridge near the Civic House, 124 Dunnell Road, and in the high school parking lot at Parker Road. Event organizers will provide gloves, bags and lunch. Please wear footwear suitable for walking in the river — closed-toe, waterproof shoes or boots are best.
