Miroslav Lajcak

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — Seton Hall University’s School of Diplomacy and International Relations World Leaders Forum will welcome Miroslav Lajcak, president of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly, for a public address, “Toward a New U.N.,” at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1. The free event will take place on the university’s South Orange campus in the Chancellor’s Suite of the Bishop Dougherty University Center, 400 South Orange Ave.
Seton Hall will be the first stop in a series of visits Lajcak intends to make to college campuses to engage with young people and experience a two-way dialogue on the United Nations. Following the address will be a question-and-answer session.
“As president of the General Assembly, Mr. Lajcak has become a strong advocate for change at the U.N., seeking to make the organization more relevant, responsive and effective as it strives to meet the needs of the people of this planet,” Andrea Bartoli, dean of the School of Diplomacy and International Relations, said in a press release.
The public is invited but due to limited space, an RSVP is recommended at www.shu.edu/wlf2017. For those unable to attend, the address will be live streamed on Facebook.
