SHU invites high school entrepreneurs to compete for $50K

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — High school entrepreneurs are invited to compete in the fifth annual Pirates Pitch competition sponsored by the Stillman School of Business and its Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at Seton Hall University. Students across the nation are encouraged to showcase their entrepreneurial talents and business ideas for a chance to compete for more than $50,000 in cash awards and scholarships to attend Seton Hall. The top prize is a $2,500 cash award and a $10,000 scholarship.

The competition is designed to provide high school students the opportunity to learn entrepreneurship basics and idea generation. High school sophomores, juniors and seniors with a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher are eligible to participate.

To enter, students should submit an original business idea that describes an innovative product or service they would like to create. Submit entries at www.shu.edu/2019pitch by Oct. 29.

An independent panel of judges will review all entries. The top 10 finalists will be invited to the university at 400 South Orange Ave., South Orange, on Nov. 22 to present their business idea or discuss a business they now operate in five-minute presentations to a panel of judges.
