SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — A section of gas main spanning South Orange Avenue is set to be replaced on Thursday, Oct. 26, according to a release from the South Orange Police Department.
The work will be in the area of South Orange Avenue and South Centre Street — just east of Seton Hall University. This will require the re-routing of westbound traffic and a delay of eastbound traffic. Eastbound traffic will remain open, down to one lane, shifted toward the north side of street. Westbound traffic will be detoured north onto Kingman Road, west onto Hamilton Road, south onto Centre Street and back to South Orange Avenue.
The work will start just after rush hour, sometime after 9 a.m., and continue until complete, with a target time of 5 p.m.
Questions can be directed to Sgt. Acevedo at 973-763-3000, ext. 7802.
