SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — The Hot Towns Showdown presented by Kings Food Markets pits 16 sizzling towns against each other in a competition that’s sure to fire up lots of debate and South Orange has made the list. New Jersey Monthly picked the 16 towns in the bracket competition based on factors like rising home prices, and time spent on the market when homes are up for sale. It also sought input from real-estate professionals and listened to the “buzz” in the marketplace.
Starting with 16 contenders on Aug. 29, New Jersey Monthly will cut the field in half each week throughout September based on the votes. A new round will begin each Tuesday until the ultimate championship round, starting Sept. 19.
