Sustainable landscape lecture at the library

Carolle Huber

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — On Monday, Sept. 11, at 7:30 p.m. at Maplewood Memorial Library, 51 Baker St. in Maplewood, the Maplewood Garden Club presents “Early Street Community Garden, a Model of Sustainable Landscape.” Speaker Carolle Huber, vice president and cofounder of Grow It Green Morristown, will describe how sustainable practices — from native plantings to green streets and more — were implemented at the Early Street Community Garden in Morristown, turning this littered and vacant space into a showcase for sustainable practices in less than four years and providing space for more than 100 families to grow their own food.
