MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Leo Bernstein Jasper,12, of Maplewood is joined by Millburn resident and Valerie Fund Executive Director Barry Kirschner as Leo donated more than $300 worth of toys for children fighting cancer and blood disorders. The toys will be used at seven Valerie Fund holiday parties for children treated at their local centers this holiday season. Leo has a local bake sale called Sweet Leo’s every fall to support children fighting cancer and this year took the proceeds of the sale and bought the toys, knowing how much this act will brighten the holiday season for children like him. The Valerie Fund accepts donations of new, unwrapped toys for all their children’s centers at 2102 Millburn Ave. in Maplewood throughout the year.
