Third annual South Orange Health and Fitness Challenge offered

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – The Village of South Orange is once again leading the charge for a healthier year ahead with SOFit17, the third annual South Orange Health and Fitness Challenge.

The theme of SOFit17 is the “Hundred Day Challenge” beginning Jan. 20 and ending April 29. As in the past two years, community residents are invited to participate in an event that promotes and supports healthy living, devising their own fitness and wellness program. However, there are two major differences this year – 1) more ways to win and 2) daily fitness opportunities from local providers.

MORE WAYS TO WIN IN SOFIT 2017!

Prizes will be awarded for three different challenges this year:

  1. Weight Loss Challenge – This challenge is for the traditionalist with a weight loss goal in 2017. Weigh-ins are required and prizes will be awarded monthly and for the 100 Days of the challenge to top male and female contestant.
  2. Step Challenge – Using the Stridekick step-tracking app, prizes will be awarded for the most steps taken by a male and female, monthly and for the 100 Days of the challenge.
  3. Fitness Challenge – SOFit participants will collect points for fitness activities and classes attended throughout the challenge. This prize will reward effort and enthusiasm and will only be awarded to one individual for the 100 days of the challenge.

Participants may choose to compete for prizes in any, all or none of the individual challenges.

DAILY FITNESS OPPORTUNITIES

The sponsors of SOFit17 – Studio 509, SpaLady South Orange, Cycle Rx, Run Jump Lift and D&I Fitness – are making their studios, gyms and programs available to SOFit participants.
