Three men with guns rob business on Parker Avenue in Maplewood

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — On Feb. 10, at approximately 9:26 p.m., there was an armed robbery reported at the Panda Kitchen, located at 300 Parker Ave. in Maplewood.

According to police, three men, all wearing masks, entered the store and produced handguns. The perpetrators ordered the two employees, the employees’ 8-year-old son, and one male patron, age 66, to the ground. The patron was then slammed to the ground by one of the suspects and his personal belongings were removed from his pockets. The perpetrators then removed $400 in cash from the register and an Apple iPad from behind the counter.

All parties on scene refused medical attention from the Maplewood Fire Department EMS. There were only minor injuries reported. Public safety cameras show the vehicle involved was a dark-colored older model Chevy Impala last seen heading east on Irvington Avenue, then making a right on Franklin Terrace.

Maplewood police detectives are investigating.
