TSTI educators attend Hidden Sparks workshop

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — Early Childhood Education Director Carol Paster, far left, and Religious School Director Mindy Schreff, third from left, from Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel in South Orange recently attended Hidden Sparks, a four-day course for educators held in Manhattan.

The “Learning Lenses” courses were designed to help teachers learn how to observe, reflect, and plan for all students in their classrooms using multiple lenses — developmental, temperamental and ecological — which form the core of Hidden Sparks’ approach to learning. The nonprofit’s purpose is to help all children reach their full potential in school and life by helping schools develop and implement better ways to support all learners.

Attending with Schreff and Paster were religious school teachers Rachel Rothman, Tamar Arieh and Marge Saide. TSTI’s community pre-school and religious school are open to children of all learning abilities and several of the pre-school teachers are certified in special education.
