SOUTH ORANGE, NJ — Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel in South Orange, in partnership with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee and area synagogues, hosted an evening with Rabbi Donniel Hartman, who discussed “Judaism in the 21st Century” on Nov. 10. Hartman spoke about some of the challenges that will affect the Israeli-American relationship in the years to come, in part due to the changing nature of American Jewish identity. He encouraged attendees to be cognizant of these changes and to proactively create space with children for dialog about Israel. Attendees were also encouraged to attend the AIPAC policy conference in Washington, D.C., in March 2017.
