Attendees will study texts and share ideas in an open and safe environment, and learn techniques to help cultivate a daily spiritual practice through meditation. The book “Wise Aging,” by Rabbi Rachel Cowan and Dr. Linda Thal, will be used. Registrants must register for and commit to attending all sessions. A fee applies and will be donated to the Interfaith Food Pantry of the Oranges. For information, email Anne Sussman at [email protected]. Sign up for the series at http://bit.ly/wiseaging.
- On Thursday, March 15, at 9:30 a.m., Beth Sandweiss facilitates a mindfulness meditation and chant group. Sandweiss uses Hebrew chant, breath and awareness exercises to relax the mind, open the heart and bring attention to the present. Walk-ins are welcome.
- On Saturday, March 24, at 7 p.m., MetroWest shaliach Michael Levi and other Israeli emissaries will share a taste of Israeli diversity through charoset, a staple of the Passover Seder at “Charoset, Havdalah and Israeli Wine.” Participants will make and taste authentic charoset from the representatives’ family seder tables and explore how their specific recipe tells the story of Passover traditions in Israeli society. The program will be followed by a Havdalah service and sampling of Israeli wine. Admission is charged. Advance registration is required; go to http://bit.ly/2ClGvOb. This program is co-sponsored by Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest; for more information, contact Michael Levi at [email protected].
