Verona man facing charges for attempted robbery at WO bank

WEST ORANGE, NJ — A Verona man is facing charges after attempting to rob a West Orange bank.

Christopher Morales, 38, was charged with second-degree robbery and resisting arrest after allegedly passing a series of Post-It notes to a bank employee at Wells Fargo on Pleasant Valley Way on the morning of Feb. 27.

Morales entered the bank at approximately 10:45 a.m. and reportedly attempted to take out a loan but was denied, according to bank officials. He then allegedly handed a bank employee several Post-It notes, of which at least one demanded money.

No one was injured during the incident.

Morales was arrested at the scene and is being held at the Essex County jail.
