30-year-old West Orange man dies in car crash on the parkway

BLOOMFIELD, NJ — Craig “C.J.” Waldron Jr., 30, of West Orange, died July 27 after his vehicle ran off the left side of the Garden State Parkway, between Exit 153 and the Brookdale service area, in Bloomfield, according to the New Jersey State Police. Waldron’s car went over the median at approximately 11:15 a.m., hit several trees and then burst into flames. Waldron was pronounced dead at the scene when first responders arrived.

According to the NJSP, no other vehicles were involved in the incident and Waldron was the sole occupant of his vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation.

A lifelong resident of West Orange, Waldron graduated from West Orange High School in 2009 and then attended Penn State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree. Waldron worked in pharmaceutical sales.
