WEST ORANGE, NJ — It is with great sadness that the members of the West Orange Board of Education acknowledge the passing of former BOE member Warren Fuller on July 31. Fuller served the community from 1996-2004 with great distinction. He was a Certified Board Leader, receiving the highest accommodation from New Jersey School Boards Association, and provided instruction to board members across the state. He proudly served as president of the board during his term and shared his love and passion for public education long after his tenure on the board.
“Warren’s ability to grasp often complex and complicated issues and assist not only those with whom had the privilege of serving but many board members subsequently was profoundly appreciated by members of the entire school community,” board member Laura Lab said. “Many years after his children graduated and he no longer was a member of the board, Warren tried not to miss a football game, marching band halftime show, concert or high school play. He was a true advocate for West Orange, our children and our school district. My colleagues and Superintendent Rutzky join me in sending heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.”
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, Aug. 4, from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. at Danglers Funeral Home, 340 Main St. in West Orange. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 5, from noon to 1 p.m., also at Danglers Funeral Home.
