Collaborative effort focuses on student vaccinations

​WEST ORANGE, NJ — A partnership between the West Orange Health Department and the Montclair State University School of Nursing provided a COVID-19 vaccination clinic in the Tarnoff Cafeteria at West Orange High School on Tuesday, Aug. 31. The clinic was open to the community but specifically geared toward students age 12 and older for the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine. More than 50 students had registered to receive the shot. The second dose is scheduled at the same location on Tuesday, Sept. 21.

Overseeing the administration of the vaccine were, from the WOHD, acting Director Michael Fonzino and senior public health nurse Susan Iovino; and, from MSU’s School of Nursing, Courtney Reinisch, Mary Duffy and Yanick Joseph. Additional clinics are anticipated to be scheduled at other locations within the West Orange School District.
