WEST ORANGE, NJ — The West Orange Scholarship Foundation Principal’s Scholarship “Harvest Moon” fundraiser, held at the Loft at the Wilshire Grand Hotel on Nov. 20, provided an enjoyable evening for attendees and a record $5,600 for the fund.
More than 100 guests enjoyed an evening of dancing provided by Liberty Middle School music teacher Dave Rimelis, who provided some lively Virginia Reel and hoe-down tunes, and Pleasantdale guidance counselor Florence “DJ Flo” Chirichiello, who kept everyone up and on their feet.
A 50-50 raffle won by WOHS parent Mike Scalora, who returned his winnings to the fundraiser, and the support of several local businesses helped to make the event a big success. The Harvest theme was enhanced by donated decor from a local landscaping firm and local nursery, and autumn beer selections highlighted the appetizers and food.
West Orange High School Principal Hayden Moore worked with the WOSF to create the Principal’s Scholarship in 2013, which provides scholarships to graduating seniors. Moore and Chairperson Debi Zarro gave a heartfelt thanks to those who helped to make the evening a success.
