WEST ORANGE, NJ — The third-quarter tax bills for West Orange were mailed out July 30 and are now available online for payment. Due to the delay in sending out the bills, the grace period for the third-quarter payment has been extended to Tuesday, Aug. 28. Payments must be received in the tax office no later than Aug. 28 in order to avoid interest charges.
Earlier this month, the township was notified of an award of an additional $3.5 million of state aid to the West Orange Board of Education. At its July 16 meeting, the Board of Education voted to apply $3 million toward the 2018-2019 school year. Normally, tax bills would have been mailed out in early July, but this year were delayed awaiting finalization of the amount of state aid.
