‘Immigration Law and Policy in the Trump Era’

WEST ORANGE, NJ — The West Orange town team of NJ 11th for Change will host Gemma Solimene, clinical associate professor at Fordham University’s School of Law, to provide an overview of U.S. immigration law and policy in both historical and contemporary contexts on Monday, Aug. 20, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at West Orange Public Library, 46 Mt. Pleasant Ave.

Solimene has 28 years of experience working in the public interest, representing the underserved of New York, and has appeared on numerous panels and presentations related to immigration and clinical teaching. She specializes in immigration, legal aid, education, public interest and service, trials and trial procedure. The Immigrant Rights Clinic she directs at Fordham gives her students the chance to represent people trying to obtain or maintain legal immigration status in the U.S.
