WEST ORANGE, NJ — The annual Co-Curricular Night was held at West Orange High School on April 20 and offered incoming freshmen, new students and their parents the opportunity to see all the co-curricular activities the school has to offer.

Principal Hayden Moore welcomed parents and future Mountaineers, saying, “The purpose of this evening is to encourage your social growth. At West Orange High School we encourage our students to grow holistically, both socially and academically. We have something for everyone.”

“It is a proven fact that students do better academically when they are involved in co-curricular activities,” Assistant Principal Kimberly Mancarella said in a press release. “Become involved! Attend events and be part of our school community. We have late buses on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays to offer you lots of opportunities to get involved.”

“The high school has college-level athletic facilities,” Athletic Director Ron Bligh said. “My advice is: Try sports that you’re interested in; come to the pep rallies and Mountaineer Fan Fest; make this your school and show Mountaineer Pride.”

“Your involvement in high school co-curricular activities is not only important to your college resume but will contribute to everlasting memories and lifelong friendships,” Moore concluded.

Following a short video presentation in the auditorium, students and parents proceeded to the Tarnoff gym and cafeteria, where co-curricular sports and clubs held signups and welcomed new families.
