JFS MetroWest launches breast cancer support services with free day of wellness

WEST ORANGE, NJ — JFS MetroWest announces the launch of breast cancer support services. Together with its partners, Saint Barnabas Medical Center and Sharsheret, Jewish Family Services of MetroWest will assist survivors of breast cancer by providing information about healthy living through medical and fitness experts, mental health support by a professional clinician, and connections to other individuals who have experienced similar issues and concerns.

To launch these new services, JFS MetroWest is offering a free day of wellness on Sunday, April 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the JCC MetroWest at 760 Northfield Ave. in West Orange. The day includes gentle meditative yoga with a certified yoga instructor, registered dietitian and health coach Stacey Pinke. It will also include a discussion “What Now? Living Beyond Breast Cancer,” by Dr. Janette McDermott, a breast surgeon with Barnabas Health Group. Healthy refreshments will be served.
