WEST ORANGE, NJ — Chabad of West Orange will celebrate Yud Shevat on Friday, Jan. 26, with a traditional Shabbat dinner at 6 p.m. with Kiddush wine, homemade challah, a hot meal and an inviting atmosphere. A candle-lighting ceremony for women and girls will begin at 4:45 p.m.
Yud Shevat is a significant date on the Chabad calendar because it is the anniversary of the death of the sixth Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn, and Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson’s acceptance of the role of seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe one year later.
Chabad of West Orange is located at 401 Pleasant Valley Way. First-time guests attend for free. Register at www.chabadwestorange.com/fnd by Jan. 23.
