Kessler named among America’s best hospitals by U.S. News & World Report

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation is again ranked as one of the top three rehabilitation hospitals in the country by U.S. News & World Report and is the only facility of its kind in New Jersey to be named to the prestigious “Best Hospitals” list, according to a recent release. This marks the 24th consecutive year that Kessler has been listed among the nation’s leading rehabilitation hospitals in the annual independent U.S. News survey.

“We are honored that Kessler continues to be recognized as one of the very best rehabilitation hospitals in the country and the leading hospital of its kind in the Northeast,” Sue Kida, president of Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, said in the release. “This truly reflects our unwavering commitment to providing the quality care and advanced treatment that enable individuals with catastrophic injuries and illnesses to rebuild their lives. We are proud of our more than 2,000 Kessler employees and the work they do each day, but prouder still of our patients whose progress is the real measure of our success.”

According to U.S. News, the annual rankings recognize hospitals that excel in the treatment of individuals with complex medical needs and help guide patients to those hospitals that deliver outstanding care.

“U.S. News evaluates nearly 5,000 hospitals nationwide,” Ben Harder, chief of health analysis at U.S. News, said in the release. “A hospital that emerged from our analysis as one of the best has much to be proud of.”

Kessler’s Chief Medical Officer Bruce M. Gans added that, “To be ranked third among the more than 1,100 inpatient rehabilitation hospitals and units in the country is important acknowledgement of Kessler’s leadership not only in patient care, but in research, education and advocacy initiatives.”
