Man injured in West Orange house fire

WEST ORANGE, NJ — A 51-year-old township man was injured after attempting to extinguish a fire that broke out in his home early in the morning on Sunday, Feb. 10.

At approximately midnight firefighters responded to the one-alarm fire on Marie Terrace.

The resident reportedly suffered burns to his arms after he tried to put out the fire prior to the arrival of firefighters. He was taken to St. Barnabas Medical Center where he was treated and released.

The fire was extinguished in about 15 minutes. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
