Michael Oren to speak at B’nai Shalom

WEST ORANGE, NJ — Former Israeli ambassador to the United States Michael Oren, who currently sits in Knesset, Israel’s governing body, as a member of the Kulanu party and is a deputy minister in Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office, will return to West Orange, where he grew up, on Tuesday, Sept. 4. At B’nai Shalom, 300 Pleasant Valley Way in West Orange, Oren, a world-renowned Israeli historian, author and politician will discuss “Israel and American Jews: Common Destiny or Separate Paths.”

While the talk begins at 8 p.m., there will be a student reception with Oren at 6:30 p.m.; a special reception with Oren and for preferred seating at 7 p.m.; general admission access to seating beginning at 7:15 p.m.; and a special performance from the West Point Jewish Choir at 7:30 p.m. Admission is charged.
