WEST ORANGE, NJ — The Mt. Pleasant Elementary School community will celebrate the life of student Henry Chang, who died in July following a long battle with cancer.
A special event has been scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 4, from 2 to 3 p.m. at the school, located at 9 Manger Road, in conjunction with West Orange Township.
“We will be dedicating a tree, bench and mural at Mt. Pleasant in Henry’s honor,” Principal Julie DiGiacomo said. “It is going to be beautiful.”
Henry is survived by his mother, Heather Young, an art teacher at West Orange High School; his father Henry, an instructional aide in the West Orange School District; 5-year-old brother Derrick; grandparents; and loving family members and friends.
The community is invited to attend the celebration of Henry’s life.
