WEST ORANGE, NJ — Mt. Pleasant student Rohan Belday qualified to compete in the “Little Mo” Nationals in Austin, Texas, from Oct. 13 through 17, 2016. Belday is currently ranked second in the 12-Year-Old Eastern Division, which includes New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, and he is one of only 16 players in his age group to qualify for the nationals.
Rohan has shown great promise recently, earning a United States Tennis Association scholarship to train with USTA coaches in Queens, N.Y. He was one of six players selected for the prestigious scholarship from a pool of more than 140 tri-state players.
In addition to the “Little Mo” Nationals, Rohan was invited to represent the Eastern region in the Capitol Clash competition in Maryland, a cross-sectional event featuring teams from the Eastern, Mid-Atlantic, Middle States and New England sections. Belday finished in the top three for the year in the Eastern Division in the 10-and-under category and represented the Eastern division in the USTA event Oct. 8 through 10.
