NAACP to host acclaimed author

EAST ORANGE, NJ — The Oranges & Maplewood Unit of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People will host a presentation by acclaimed author and speaker Khalil Gibran Muhammad of Harvard University on Sunday, Jan. 7, at 3 p.m., at Elmwood United Presbyterian Church, 135 Elmwood Ave. in East Orange. Muhammad will be speaking on the topic of “Black Lives Matter, Beyond the Age of Trump.” He will be available after his presentation to sign copies of his book, “The Condemnation of Blackness: Race, Crime, and the Making of Modern Urban America.”
