WEST ORANGE, NJ — More than 70 women attended the Chabad of West Orange’s annual Rosh Chodesh Society Women’s Dinner on Tuesday, Jan. 2.

Chabad of West Orange Co-director Altie Kasowitz opened the evening by welcoming all the guests and introducing Pearl Herson to recite a chapter of Tehillim for the land and people of Israel, and the membered of the Israel Defense Force and the U.S. Armed Forces who are stationed around the globe safeguarding safety and security.

The dinner was called “An Evening of Joy and Laughter” and that was certainly the feeling when guest speaker Devora Lewis took the stage. Lewis, who serves as a Chabad shlucha with her husband and family in Old Tappan, enthralled the crowd with her witty stories and wonderful sense of humor. Her underlying message was that the road to happiness is through helping others.

The dinner was replete with a four-course menu, old friends and new, and a gift bag for each attendee on the way out, donated by Doni Landy. This year’s annual Women’s Dinner was sponsored by Regal Bank.
