WEST ORANGE, NJ — West Orange High School, located at 51 Conforti Ave., will be the site of the Region IV NJSIAA Wrestling Tournament, which begins Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. in the Tarnoff Gymnasium.
Wrestlers from Region IV will compete on the following schedules:
- Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 6 p.m., first round;
- Friday, Feb. 26, at 6 p.m., quarterfinals;
- Saturday, Feb. 27, at 9 a.m., semifinals;
- Saturday, Feb. 27, at 2:30 p.m., consolation finals; and
- Saturday, Feb. 27, at 3:30 p.m., finals.
Four WOHS wrestlers will be competing. On Wednesday night, competing for a spot in the Friday quarterfinals, are freshman Colin Morgan — weighing in at 126 pounds, seeded eighth, with a 20-11 record — and sophomore Sebastian Rawls — weighing in at 170 pounds, seeded eighth, with a 20-9 record. The two WOHS wresters who have automatically moved to the quarterfinals on Feb. 26 are junior Victor Lopez — weighing in at 113 pounds, seeded second, with a 30-1 record — and senior Brian Velez — seeded third with a 23-9 record.
The Region IV Tournament is open to the public. Admission is charged. Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the tournament.
