WEST ORANGE, NJ — Roosevelt Middle School students Jacob Klausner and Oliver Adelson are finalists heading to the National MathCon Competition in Chicago, Ill., on April 23. The boys were two of the 564 national finalists who qualified to attend the competition out of 44,073 students.
According to Roosevelt math teacher and Math Club adviser Jennifer Cataldo, Klausner and Adelson were not the only RMS students to excel in the competition. Math Club members Andrew Gart, Varun Devgan, Roberto Franco and William Schick achieved honorable mention.
“This is great news for Roosevelt and our students,” Principal Lionel Hush said in a release. “We are so proud of our students and wish them the best.”
