WEST ORANGE, NJ — At Daughters of Israel, Sandye Garrison, a former Hollywood producer and casting agent, led some fellow residents on the Laurie Pavilion in a symbolic indoor tashlich ceremony. Tashlich is a customary ritual during the Jewish High Holy Days period, in which prayers are recited and sins are metaphorically cast away into a body of water, enabling a clean slate for the New Year.
