Tunnicliffe, Rothstein sworn in at BOE reorg meeting

WEST ORANGE, NJ — The West Orange Board of Education held its annual reorganization meeting Jan. 6, swearing in new board members Jennifer Tunnicliffe and Gary Rothstein. Ken Alper was elected board president and Terry Trigg-Scales as vice president for the 2020 school year.

The following board assignments were approved: Tunnicliffe and Rothstein to the New Jersey School Boards Association; Trigg-Scales and Alper to the Essex County School Boards Association; Trigg-Scales and Tunnicliffe to Legislative; Trigg-Scales and Alper to Negotiations Committee; Trigg-Scales and Cheryl Merklinger to Policy; Alper and Merklinger to liaise with the township; and Merklinger and Rothstein to the Public Relations Committee.

Moving forward, Board of Education meetings will begin at 7:30 pm. The next board meeting will be held in the Library Media Center at West Orange High School on Jan. 27.
