WEST ORANGE / ORANGE, NJ — UNICO National held its national convention this July at the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Ariz. The Orange/West Orange chapter was awarded Model Chapter of the Year, the organization’s highest honor. This award is a culmination of many hours of hard work by the chapter serving the residents of West Orange and Orange, while promoting the values of “Service Above Self.”

During the year, the chapter donated more than $35,000 in scholarships and to local and national causes, including building a pocket park at the Thomas Edison National Park in West Orange, the donation of two-way radios to the West Orange Community Response Team and $10,000 in scholarships to West Orange High School students. In addition, the chapter sponsored three area high school and college students who were awarded UNICO National Scholarships at the national convention.
