WEST ORANGE, NJ — Township residents can apply for the new West Orange identification card starting June 1. The identification card program is open to all residents, including people who do not have a government ID.
The township clerk’s office, which is handling the IDs, will be processing requests from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, at Town Hall, 66 Main St., Room 101.
The municipal ID card will display the resident’s full name, photo, home address, date of birth, gender, height, weight, eye color and signature. Residents have to provide original documentation that includes a photo ID, their date of birth and proof they live in the township.
The ID card costs $20 to process and is valid for three years. Cards must be returned to the township if a resident moves.
For a list of required documentation or more information, call the municipal clerk’s office at 973-325-4155 or visit www.westorange.org/MunicipalID. The measure to issue the cards was passed by the Township Council in September 2017.
