West Orange students to stage ‘Aida’ this spring

WO-aida poster-WWEST ORANGE, NJ — The drama department at West Orange High School is getting geared up for its spring musical: the award-winning “Aida,” by Elton John and Tim Rice. “Aida” is an epic tale of love, loyalty and betrayal chronicling the love triangle between Aida, a Nubian princess stolen from her country; Amneris, an Egyptian princess; and Radames, the soldier whom they both love. With an unforgettable score featuring soaring ballads and rousing choral numbers, “Aida” is a modern crowd pleaser.

Show times will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 31; Friday, April 1; and Saturday, April; a matinee performance will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 3. There will be a free show on Wednesday, March 30, at 6:30 p.m. for West Orange senior citizens. The show will be performed at the high school, 51 Conforti Ave. in West Orange.
