West Orange to hold solidarity vigil for Orlando

WEST ORANGE, NJ — The West Orange Human Relations Commission invites everyone to join in a special vigil Thursday, June 16, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The gathering will take place at the Clipper Picnic Pavilion, near paddleboating, South Mountain Recreation Complex in West Orange, in solidarity and to remember the lives lost in the massacre in Orlando, Fla., this past weekend.

Attendees are encouraged to bring rainbow flags and #WeAreOrlando signs to help spread a message of love and tolerance and to speak out against the anti-LGBT violence that threatens all Americans.

There is parking on Cherry Lane, and overflow parking available on Northfield Avenue, near McLoone’s Boathouse. The event will be held sun or rain.
