WEST ORANGE, NJ — West Orange’s fall 2017 leaf collection program will consist of the collections of both bagged leaves and loose leaves placed along the curb and gutter of all public municipal streets.
Bagged leaves will be collected from Oct. 1 through Dec. 31. Leaves may only be placed in brown biodegradable paper bags which are available at the Public Works Building, 25 Lakeside Ave; Town Hall, 66 Main St.; and the Recycling Center, 590 Mt. Pleasant Ave. Their costs is five backs for $2. Bags containing materials others than leaves will not be collected. Bagged leaves will be collected weekly. Bagged leaves will be collected in Zone 1 on Mondays, Zone 2 on Tuesdays, Zone 3 on Wednesdays and Zone 4 on Thursdays. The loose leaves collections program will comply with NJDEP regulations. Leaves shall not be placed along the curb and gutter more than seven days prior to their scheduled collection. Also, leaves may not be placed within 10 feet of a drainage inlet.
Leaves may only be placed along the curb and gutter from Oct. 15 through Dec. 17. Loose leaves will be collected by zone.
Loose leaves will be collected from Zone 1 from Oct. 23 to 27, Nov. 6 to 11, and Dec. 4 to 9; from Zone 2 from Oct. 23 to 27, Nov. 13 to 18, and Dec. 11 to 15; from Zone 3 from Oct. 30 to Nov. 3, Nov. 20 to 25, and Dec. 18 to 22; and from Zone 4 from Oct. 30 to Nov. 3, Nov. 27 to Dec. 2, and Dec. 18 to 22.
