WO community invited to see WOHS cheerleaders before Nationals

WEST ORANGE, NJ — On Feb. 6 and 7, the West Orange High School cheerleaders will be competing at the UCA National High School Championship for the second straight year and participating in the Varsity Large Non-Tumbling and Gameday divisions.

As part of the family and friends send off, the cheerleaders will hold a special final  performance at the Tarnoff Gym at West Orange High School, 51 Conforti Ave., on Wednesday, Feb. 3. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Both division teams will be performing their routines. The community is invited to attend and give the cheerleaders a big West Orange send-off. Thanks to the generosity of family, friends, and the West Orange community, the girls’ trip to Florida has become a reality.

The team is heading to the NHSCC championship as Super Essex Conference Liberty Division champions and has been awarded seven first-place competitions, including the Northeast Regional UCA qualification in November. They also support the football and basketball teams at games.

The National High School Cheerleading Championship is the most prestigious cheerleading championship in the country. Hundreds of teams from across the country participate every year. The NHSCC is held at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla., and nationally televised on ESPN and ESPN2 to more than 100 million homes and 32 countries nationwide each year.
