WO fifth-grader gets chance to defend his title

NUTLEY, NJ — The annual Elks Hoop Shoot Free Throw North Central District Finals were Sunday, Dec. 11, at the Nutley Recreation Center. West Orange St. Cloud fifth-grader Gabriel Strassman took first place in the 10- and 11-year-old boys group. Gabriel advances to the state competition, to be held Feb. 12, where he will defend his title, as he won state last year in the 8- to 9-year-old boy group. With Gabriel is Don Reitmeyer of West Orange Elks Lodge 1590.
