WOHS counselor recognized by NJSCA

WEST ORANGE, NJ — West Orange High School Director of Student Personnel Services and School Counseling Cheryl Butler has been recognized by the New Jersey School Counselor Association as a 2020 High School Scholarship nominee.

Butler received the recognition following nomination by WOHS senior Darlene Folas for recognizing Butler’s important role of a school counselor. Folas also received a $1,000 scholarship.

The NJSCA is the organization that represents professional school counseling in New Jersey. Its mission is “to promote excellence in the school counseling profession and to advocate for the development of all students,” and its vision is “that all professional school counselors in New Jersey will develop and implement a comprehensive school counseling program based on the National Standards for School Counseling Programs.”
