William J. Janowski

William J. Janowski, 88 of Carlsbad, CA formerly of Belleville and Maplewood NJ passed away surrounded by his family on December 21, 2018.
Relatives and friends were invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Peter’s Church, 155 William Street, Belleville on Monday, December 31st, followed by interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Visitation was held at The Jacob A. Holle Funeral Home 2122 Millburn Ave, Maplewood on Sunday, December 30th. Bill was born in Newark and lived in Maplewood and Belleville before moving to Carlsbad, CA 5 years ago. He received his BA degree from Seton Hall University and his Master’s in Education from Columbia University. He served as a public school teacher and administrator as well as an adjunct college professor for 40 years. Additionally, he served his country in the Army National Guard as an enlisted Calvary Infantryman and then in the Army Reserves as a Civil Military Government Affairs officer.
Most importantly, Bill was a devoted and committed husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
William was predeceased by his two wives, Anita Claire Janowski and Irene Stevens Janowski.
He is survived by his children William J. Janowski Jr., Claire Sill, and John Janowski and 5 grandchildren: Sarah, Megan, and Leanne Janowski; Justin and Kacey Sill.
