Elsie Lederman (Radeen), 94, of West Orange, N.J., died on February 11, 2018.
Born and raised in Newark, N.J., Mrs. Lederman also resided in Maplewood, N.J., and South Orange, N.J., before moving to West Orange about 25 years ago. She graduated from West Side High School and attended Newark University (now Rutgers).
Mrs. Lederman began her career as a buyer for Bamberger’s in Newark and Morristown, N.J. She became a homemaker and later worked with her late husband, George, at Radeen’s Home Decorators in Millburn, the business begun by her father. She also held a real estate license for several years with ERA R.G. Schaffer Realty, also in Millburn.
Mrs. Lederman was a lifelong member of Congregation Oheb Shalom in South Orange, N.J., and a member of Miriam Sisterhood, where she also served as president. She was an active member of Women’s League for Conservative Judaism and other organizations.
Predeceased by her sister, Ann Deener, and her husband, George, Mrs. Lederman is survived by her sons, Mark (Ronni) of Bridgewater, N.J., and Hal (Dr. Harriet) of Highland Park, N.J., and her grandchildren, Hillary (Lt. David, USN) Weller, Jodi, PFC, Ben, USMC, Hannah, and Eric.
Services will be held on February 12, 2018 at Congregation Oheb Shalom, South Orange, N.J., Arrangements by Menorah Chapels at Millburn, Union, N.J. Interment will follow at Oheb Shalom Cemetery in Hillside, N.J.
