Felicia Nichole Mason, 49, entered eternal rest on Monday, Jan. 21. Relatives and friends were invited to attend memorial services on Friday, Feb. 1 at Perry’s Funeral Home and Friday Feb. 8 at 141 Coit St. in Irvington.
Born in Newark to the late Harold Barnes and Dorothy Mason, “Cole”, as she was affectionately called, graduated from Central High School where she was a proud cheerleader for the Blue Devils. She earned a certificate in business office skills and word processing from Newark Business Training Institute.
She began her career at Macy’s, then worked at Ms. D’s Restaurant, Sealand Port and finally Worrall Newspapers. She was a member of Newark Pre-School Council, supported UCC and volunteered at NJPAC. “Cole’s” signature greeting was “Hey now”.
She loved cooking, roller skating, bowling, music, dancing and making others laugh. Her favorite football team was the Seahawks.
She is survived by her son Bashir Leon Mason, siblings Patricia Mason, Carolyn Homes, Harold Jackson (Michelle) and Rashaan Jackson (Simone); aunts and uncles Martha Ford, Lillian Williams, Deborah Massey, Davenport and Ethus Barnes; nieces and nephews Shamikah Mason, Shanite, Alisha, Steven Holmes, Roshelle, Jerad Jackson; great niece and nephew My’najah & Z’aire; godfather Henry Jamison; and host of cousins and friends.
