Franklin A “Frank” Smith, 81, of Port Charlotte, FL passed away on Wednesday February 10, 2015. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the O’Boyle Funeral Home, 309 Broad St. Bloomfield on Saturday at 10 AM. Interment with military honors will take place at Arlington Cemetery in Kearny. Visitation is on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
Born in Newark, Frank lived most of his life in Bloomfield before moving to Port Charlotte in 2003. He was a Naval Veteran before assuming control of the family business, Charles J Smith and Sons Trucking and becoming a pioneer for HIV/AIDS with his support group Buddies of NJ.
Frank was predeceased by his parents Charles Sr. and Myrtle Smith and his brothers Charles and John. He is survived by David Brancaccio and husband Arthur Schumacher, grandson Daniel Brancaccio and wife Jessica. He is also survived many nieces and nephews as well as countless friends.
