Hector “Mateo” Rodriguez, 54, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2016. Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral at the O’Boyle Funeral Home 309 Broad St. Bloomfield on Wednesday, November 16th at 10:00 a.m. Immediately following, family will proceed to the Glendale Cemetery, 28 Hoover Ave., Bloomfield. Born in Lares, Puerto Rico, Hector moved to the United States when he was 8 years old. He lived in Newark, NJ, for 19 years before moving to Bloomfield for 27 years.
Hector last worked at Paul Dyeing Company in Newark for 14 years. He enjoyed sports, cooking, and spending time with his family.
He was the husband of Ada Rodriguez for 34 years, father of Moises Rodriguez, Hector Rodriguez and his wife Katie. Hector was the son of late Wilma Caban. He was the brother of Zoraida Arocho and her husband Antonio, Carmen Rodriguez, Jose Rodriguez and his wife Olga, Junior Rodriguez and his wife Dalia, Anibal Rodriguez, Benjamin Rodriguez and his wife Evette, Julio Caban and the late William Rodriguez. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
