Irene Frances Walsh

   Irene Frances Walsh (nee Skutack), 87,  passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at home in Bloomfield.
   Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the O’Boyle Funeral Home, 309 Broad St. Bloomfield on Saturday at 9 AM. The funeral mass will be offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Bloomfield at 10 AM. Visitation is Friday from 4-8 PM. Interment private. Please express condolences at
   Born in Old Forge, PA, Irene lived most of her life in Bloomfield.
   She was musically talented, playing piano, organ, flute and ukulele. She gave free piano lessons to neighborhood children. She was artistically gifted as well, working with oils and acrylics, and Egg Art. An avid golfer, Irene was a member of the Glen Ridge Country Club for many years.
   Irene had a beautiful voice and sang with the St. Thomas the Apostle choir since its inception in 1959. Her crowning achievement came when she sang Panis Angelicus as a solo when the choir visited the Vatican in 1996.
   Irene was the beloved of John (Jack) Walsh for 66 years; mother of Nancy Krawczky and her husband Walt, Susan Moynihan an her husband Richard and Barbara (Bonnie) Walsh and her Companion John Garrity; and very proud grandmother (Nana) to Steven and Stephanie Brain. She is also survived by many loving relatives, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Nancy Skutack and her sisters Helen Seinfels and Edna D’Agostino.
