James Augustine Landers

James Augustine Landers, 79, of Glen Ridge, NJ passed into eternal rest on Tuesday 12 May 2020.
Born in Queens, NY, Jim attended Bishop Loughlin High School. He went on to graduate from Fordham University. Jim proudly served in the US Army as a first lieutenant. He was stationed in Germany where he met his wife Nancy. He was later stationed at Fort Gordon in Georgia. He left the Army after 4 years and moved to Fresh Meadows, NY and eventually to Glen Ridge, NJ where he resided for over 4 decades. Jim earned his MBA from Fairleigh Dickenson and served as a trust officer at numerous banks over his long career. Jim retired from US Trust in 2012. Jim loved to spend time with his family. He coached softball and served as a US Swimming Official. He was an active and beloved member of Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church for over 40 years. More recently he volunteered with the Glen Ridge Public Library, served as a senior transport driver with the Glen Ridge Volunteer Ambulance Squad and handled intake for AARP tax preparation patrons. He was particularly fond of his four grandchildren who kept him entertained and on his toes.
Jim was the son of James J. Landers and Helen Redmond Landers. Pre-deceased by his wife Nancy and son-in-law William Fox; he is survived by his son Christopher and his wife Stephanie, and daughter Abigail Fox and grandchildren Lauren, Megan, Charles and Thomas. He is also survived by his siblings: John & Jane Landers, Thomas Landers & Linda Marshall, Margaret & Michael Canty, Anne & Karl Boehl, Mary Landers & Alex Ionescu, and Helen Landers & John Tucciarone as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their children.
