Jane R. Murray, 96 passed away peacefully October 31, 2015 in Jacksonville, FL with family by her side.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial funeral mass at Sacred Heart Church on Saturday April 16 at 11 AM with Bishop Paul Bootkowski as celebrant. Arrangements by the O’Boyle Funeral Home, 309 Broad St. Bloomfield.
Jane was born on October 12, 1919 in Mulberry, IN to parents Dr. David C. Rutan and Luelle Hallinan. She lived in Port Chester, NY before moving to Bloomfield where she lived for over 60 years.
Jane was the wife of the late Francis X. Murray Sr. for 55 years Together they owned and operated the John J. Murray and Brother Fuel Company. She also worked as a real estate broker and legal secretary. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Bloomfield where she was active in the Rosary Society, Parish Council, and First Cana and Pre-Cana Groups. She was dedicated to her community, serving as a teacher at the St. Peter Claver Mission in Montclair, an American Red Cross volunteer during WWII and a hospice volunteer.
Jane graduated from Mt. St. Dominick Academy and earned her B.A. from Montclair State College in 1985. She relocated to Jacksonville, FL in 1997 where she became a member of the San Juan Del Rio Church. She enjoyed spending time with the Fifty-Fifty Club and the Red Hat Society.
Jane was preceded in death by her children Francis, David, Jane and Paul. She is survived by daughters Mary Bodniowycz (George) and Patricia Smith (Michael) as well as 9 grandchildren, 13 great- grandchildren and 3 great- great grandchildren.
